Follow God's plan

I know I have not written in a few days. When you are visiting family and working outside of your normal routine, you tend to lose hours in a day. I apologize to all of those who read this blog.

Well, today I write to you to not really vent, but let you know what is going on with the Franco’s. Monday, I found out that the president of the United States decided to cancel the Constellation program. I work for the CONSTELLATION Technical Support Contract. Yes, if the president actually gets what he wishes for, I will be doing something different for work in the next year or so. It has to go through Congress first, and many people are optimistic that it won’t be cancelled.

Am I optimistic? Honestly, I don’t have a clue what Congress will do. What I do know is that cancelling Human Spaceflight programs is detrimental to us as a civilization. The more we put humans into space, the more technology and innovations the people living on this Earth get to enjoy and experience. I know NASA is not a lobbying organization…they can’t lobby. So all I am going to do is simply list a few things that I think are cool and beneficial…they may happen to have come from NASA…you take that hint for what it’s worth…polarized sunglasses/ski goggles, tin foil, Lasik surgery, the structure of an airplane, the air you breathe on an airplane, every day household items, safety features on cars, just to name a few. For a more interesting list of what I like, give me until the beginning of next week.

Only God knows where I am going to be 10 years from now. Will I be working for the space industry, Army, Navy, Air Force, FBI, or will I be working my dream job? Everyone has that dream of what they want to be doing with their lives. I know what mine is. Do you know what yours is?

I love working with youth. I love being outdoors. I love the mountains. I love networking with people. I love being creative and thinking of new ways to do things. I love watching someone grow from a young and timid person to an older, confident beast! I love watching my family grow…not just biological family but family of friends. I love being busy and hectic at times. I love being in charge and the “manager.” Can you guess what my dream job is?

Anyway, for now, I am happy with where my life is and what I am doing. What happens next is God’s call. I am here to listen to that call and go where He leads me. Is it Texas, Louisiana, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida? Who knows? He does :)
